SHILLONG: The Hills Farmers’ Union has demanded that the state government implement the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops produced in Meghalaya.
The demand comes in the wake of the problems being faced by the farmers in marketing their products.
In a statement issued here, HPU president Commander Shangpliang, asked the state government to find out ways and means to market the products of the farmers.
He added that the state government should constitute a committee in which farmers must also be a part pertaining to the MSP for crops which include squash, broomstick and potato.
