SHILLONG: The Ranikor Circle of the National People’s Party (NPP) has agreed to send the name of Airmarshall Diengngan to the party high command as their candidate from the constituency for the 2018 Assembly elections.
Diengngan’s name was suggested at the general council meeting held at Kensohshan village on October 28 in which 62 members of primary units were present.
Remdor Thongni, president of the NPP Ranikor Block Committee, was confident that only Diengngan could oust Congress MLA Martin M Danggo.
The party has also elected office bearers to the Women’s Wing and the National People’s Youth Front.
