MLA launches SSLC coaching class at Mendal

TURA: The free coaching centre of the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School set up to give coaching classes to students from the area appearing in the SSLC examination next year, was inaugurated by Bajengdoba MLA, Brigady N Marak at Mendal in North Garo Hills.

Speaking to the gathering at the inaugural function at Costa Memorial Hall Marak, who was Chief Guest, urged the students to make use of the opportunity to become successful in life. Setting his own experience as an example, Marak said that he became an MLA only after serving two terms as an MDC and urged students not to give up on their goals. The Chief Guest while praising the host school for its initiative urged authorities to do more and live up to its reputation of being the best school in the area.

District Deputy Commissioner, S C Sadhu who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour advised the students not to waste their time in revelry during the festivals but to put more effort to studies. He said that students should not think of merely passing the examination but aim to achieve the best results.

Earlier, the Principal of the host school, Rev Fr Bartholomew K Marak spoke briefly on the aims and objectives of organizing the free coaching class and urged students to enroll.

On the occasion, successful candidates from last year’s SSLC and HSSLC examinations were also felicitated by the local unit of the Garo Students’ Union.
