1202 seek to ‘opt out’ of Aadhaar

SHILLONG: As many as 1202 persons have sought to “opt out” of or withdraw from Aadhaar enrolment in the state between October 30 and November 3.
In a statement issued here, the Meghalaya Peoples’ Committee on Aadhaar, which is spearheading the opt-out campaign, has said it has extended the date for withdrawal.
“After confirming with volunteers for facilitation, it has been decided that the date for submitting letters for withdrawal/opting out has been extended to November 10, 2017.
People can approach the office of the KSU central body in Jaiaw apart from the centres in Nongstoin according to the arrangement of KSU, Nongstoin circle and Mawkyrwat as per arrangement of KSU Mawkyrwat circle.
