SHILLONG: The interim pre-arrest bail granted to the accused women involved in assaulting and tormenting three girls at Pynthor on September 14 has been extended as ordered by the District Court judge on Friday.
During a hearing on Friday, the counsel for the accused women, who are petitioners in this case, made a plea that the interim pre-arrest bail may be made absolute as the petitioners are cooperating with the investigation.
However, the additional public prosecutor opposed the granting of anticipatory bail.
The District Council Court Judge, before giving his final order, sought a copy of the notice issued by the police to the petitioners directing them to appear before them for conducting the Test Identification Parade and also to produce the scissors and hockey sticks which were used for assaulting the girls.
The judge has directed the police to produce the articles before the court, the notice issued to the accused by the next date to enable the court to give a fair and impartial order.
