Mawryngkneng unit asks defector not to interfere

SHILLONG: The Mawryngkneng unit of the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) has criticised NPP district council member PS Syiem for making unfounded remarks against the party. In a statement issued here, Banjop Wahlang, HSPDP secretary in Mawryngkneng, said, “Syiem joined NPP on Saturday but won the MDC election on HSPDP ticket.”
He further criticised him for alleging that HSPDP members had misled voters and said it was Syiem “who is being misled”. The HSPDP central executive committee had suspended Syiem for his anti-party activities, Wahlang said and asked the MDC not to meddle in the affairs of HSPDP.
