GUWAHATI: The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind is scheduled to arrive in the Northeast on November 19 for a maiden four-day visit to the region.
He will visit Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur from November 19 to 22 next and will attend several functions, according to information provided by the PIB regional office here.
The President will grace valedictory function of completion of 40 years of Vivekananda Kendra, Itanagar on November 19 at 11.30 A M in Arunachal Pradesh.
He will also dedicate the newly-built State Legislative Assembly to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and address the state legislators at a special session of Arunachal Pradesh Assembly at 3.30 P.M. on November 19 in Itanagar.
He is scheduled to grace the closing ceremony of Namami Barak Festival at Silchar in Assam on November 20 at 2-00 P.M and attend a civic reception at Guwahati University at 5.30 P.M. same day.
He will then go to Imphal in Manipur to inaugurate the North-East Development Summit at 2-00 P.M. 21 November 21.
In Manipur, he will also inaugurate Manipur Sangai Festival on November 21 at 4.30 P.M.
The visit of the President to the region come to an end with a visit to the Indian National Army (INA) War Memorial at Moirang near Imphal on November 22 at 11.15 A.M.
