SHILLONG:  National People’s Party (NPP) has apparently decided to play safe on the growing demand for a separate Garoland.

WR Kharlukhi, NPP State president on Friday told reports that the party has its own stand and it would go with what public wants.

“And going by the situation, public seems to have made it clear that they want to be together,” he said, adding the issue of separate Garoland has been a long pending political issue of Garo National Council (GNC).

He also said if all tribals come together, they would have a real voice in New Delhi.
