37th Annual General Meeting of  MPA held

SHILLONG: The 37th Annual General Meeting of the Meghalaya Pensioners’ Association (MPA) was held on Tuesday at the Seminar Hall of the State Central Library here. Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Finance Department etc., R. V. Suchiang graced the inaugural programme as the chief guest.

V. Suchiang thanked the pensioners for giving the best part of their lives in public service, and said that they are a role model in nation building and an inspiration for younger generations. Suchiang also informed that the MPA had rendered humane support and had always worked for the welfare of the fellow pensioners. “It is important to have a working association in order to cater and address the various issues and problems faced by the pensioners,” she added.

Adviser, MPA, K  K Muktan, President, MPA, B E Wallang, Vice-President, MPA, T Diengdoh, General Secretary, MPA, G. W. Syngai among others and members of the MPA from other districts of the State was also present at the meeting.

Presentation of the Accounts and Budget of the MPA, election of new office Bearers for the year 2018-2019 and obituary references were the other highlights of the Business Session that followed the inaugural programme.
