Decks cleared to appeal against HC verdict   on teachers appointment scam in Supreme Court

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Cabinet has directed the Education Department to file an appeal   in the Supreme Court against the verdict of  the High Court of Meghalaya wherein the Division Bench of Court had ordered CBI inquiry into the criminal aspect of the education scam pending against politicians and to probe into all the centers where teachers recruitment was carried out while cancelling the selection process in the five centers

Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma  on  Tuesday said that the Cabinet  was briefed about the   status of the matter  pertaining to the whole issue of recruitment  of  teachers and  the verdict of the Court on November 2.

Sangma informed that the order was examined by the Law Department   and based on the  observations and submission of Law and Education department, the Cabinet has asked the Education department to file the appeal .

Giving their final verdict on the matter, the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice V P Vaish had directed all the untainted/unblemished candidates of the said five Centres, Shillong Sadar, Jowai, Amlarem, Tura and Dadengre, whether in service or not, shall be allowed to participate in the fresh selection process.
