Chennai:  Income Tax (IT) officials on Tuesday raided 33 premises in Tamil Nadu belonging to three business groups, said a senior tax official.
This is the second major raid by the IT Department after its multi-city searches linked to jailed AIADMK leader V.K. Sasikala’s kin and business associates.
Earlier, an IT official told IANS that the raids were a follow up to the earlier search operations.
Officials said the latest search operations were linked to unnamed shell companies.
Speaking to reporters in Trichy, around 350 km from here, Sasikala’s nephew and sidelined AIADMK leader T.T.V. Dinakaran said the IT raids will continue till the conclusion of the by-poll for the R.K. Nagar Assembly constituency on December 21.(IANS)
