SHILLONG: HSPDP MDC and the party’s candidate for Mylliem seat, Teilinia Thangkhiew has refuted the allegations against her that she has wooed non-tribals for vote bank politics.
In a statement issued here, she said that in the report she is trying to help the Nepali community and it was heard only through an audio recording which is misleading.
“Their EPIC card was misplaced and asked me what to do. I see that they are genuine residents of the state as their children possess epic cards “, Teilinia stated.
“I have no intention to get voter id cards for them nor any assurance to get them voter cards as well,” she added. Thangkhiew stated that the report is trying to tarnish her image. KSU had claimed that the group was making efforts to fight against illegal immigrants while others like Thangkhiew are embracing the immigrants for their personal benefit.
