JOWAI: The BJP District President of West Jaintia Hills, Marki Mulieh informed that the saffron party in West Jaintia Hills is all geared up for the upcoming Assembly elections in 2018 in a meeting held at the party office in Ladthlaboh, Jowai on Monday.
Speaking to media persons, Marki Mulieh said that they had chalked out programmes and will take up various developmental issues through activities such as holding rallies, campaigns and anti-corruption campaigns to be scheduled at every mandals (constituencies).
“During our campaigns, we will bring up various issues including that of Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai Polytechnic, B.Ed College, Umngot Water Project and even the ITI Jowai which is in a pathetic condition”, the West Jaintia Hills BJP president said.
“These are the district level issues and we will also take local issues in all five constituencies”, he further added.
According to Mulieh, the delay in construction of the super market Complex at Iawmusiang is another important issue and as the BJP Chief in the district he believe that the delay might be due to corruption by the Congress government.
“The most important issue is to tell people that we are for a new change and will fight against corruption in the state”, Mulieh said.
He urged the people of West Jaintia Hills to give the party maximum support so that they could form the next government and that there will be an all round development of the state.
The meeting was attended by presidents and secretaries along with other leaders from all five assembly Constituencies of West Jaintia Hills including the ticket seeker, RL Tariang who had left UDP.
