PDF felicitates MMA fighters of Ri Bhoi

NONGPOH: The People’s Democratic Front (PDF), Umsning Zonal unit,  has felicitated the MMA athletes of Ground & Pound Gym, Nongpoh who had participated in the Boom Mixed Martial Arts, International Fight Night held at Kolkata recently.

It may be mentioned that four MMA fighters from Ri Bhoi including Aristone Ryndong sngi, Anas Ryndong Sngi, Renalius Syiemlieh and Pranjal Bordoloi who have been trained and coach by Cores Marwein at his Ground & Pound Gym, Nongpoh took part in the event.

 

One of MMA fighters, Aristone Ryndongsngi from Iewmawlong, Nongpoh who won the Bantam Weight Pro Event, No.1 Contender will now get a chance at the title belt fighting against Matiullah Sayedi of Afghanistan in the upcoming GRIT Pro MMA Fight which will be held at Mizoram on 15th December this year.

 

PDF Umsning constituency candidate, Jason Mawlong, Ivan Marbaniang President Central Body, Lansius Syiemlieh Promoter and Sponsor of Ground & Pound Gym, Sunshine Sawkmie, Mrs Aidalyne Syiemlieh were among others present on the felicitation programme besides the local residents of Umdihar village.

 

Jason Mawlong in his speech lauded the initiative of Cores Marwein who is the owner and coach of Ground & Pound Gym for his selfless dedication in shaping and moulding these local youths to become as a professional MMA fighter.

 

Lansius Syiemlieh, the main sponsor and promoter of G&P Gym thanked the PDF Umsning Zonal and Jason Mawlong for organising such an event which will encourage not just these young athletes but other youths as well to come forward and choose MMA as a career.
