SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP), Mawshynrut circle has demanded the presence of just one weighbridge at Shallang to Athiabari in the wake of coal owners and small-time businessmen incurring losses.
In a press statement, the general secretary of FKJGP Mawshynrut circle, Cary Oscar Chyne, said the presence of two weighbridges led to losses as most of the trucks do not ply on the Shallang to Athiabari road but take the route from Ronjeng instead.
