WILLIAMNAGAR: Chief Minister Mukul M Sangma, accompanied by the DIG (Western Range), O Passi laid the foundation stones for construction including metalling and black-topping of 270 km road from NH 127 (B) to Chidambong Wari at Jamge and 1km. road from Songsak Agal to Napak on the same national highway under Songsak C&RD Block on December 2 at Jamge UP School.
Laying the foundation stones, the CM said that road connectivity is the backbone for flourishing trade and commerce and now with the construction of these roads, the villages in the area are being connected with the national highway.
Speaking about improving and promoting tourism in the state, he said that the potential of the villages in terms of tourism also will be boost up and the road connectivity enable the people to understand each other’s language thereby improving the inter-communal relationship.
Further, the chief minister urged the people of the area to give special attention to the importance of plantations, gardening, etc. and also to preserve nature.
