TURA: The 120 Bn CRPF has conveyed its willingness to give any kind of help it can to the people of Garo Hills at all times. The assurance was given by its commandant, B C Dalbehera during a series of civic action programmes organised by the force under North and East Garo Hills districts in an effort to improve police-public relations in the region.
As part of the programme, a football match between Mendipathar and Babupara Club was organised recently followed by distribution of sports items like track suits, Jersey with shorts, boots, hand gloves, football nets, football, volleyball, volleyball net, badminton rackets, badminton nets and shuttle cork to the teams and students.
A free medical check-up with the help of Dr Rejia Sangma, PHC Mendipathar was also organised at the venue under the supervision of Dr Gabriel Taye, Senior Medical Officer, CRPF.
Another similar programme was also organised at Chisobibra Lower Primary School under Samanda Block in East Garo Hills District in which Dr Rikrak Napak of Samanda PHC and Senior Medical Officer of the CRPF, Dr Gabriel Taye conducted check-ups on patients.
Solar lantern & essential medicines were also distributed to the needy villages of Gitokgri, Ganinggri, Ganingbibra, Chisobibra, Jomegri, Merongri, Rambogri.
Officials of the medical department, Nokmas and school heads from both districts, including CRPF officials were part of the programmes.
