SHILLONG: As many as 15 dengue cases, including nine probable cases, have been detected in Ri Bhoi district in the past three to four months.
The district medical health officer of Ri Bhoi district informed that six confirmed cases were detected while nine probable cases were detected in September-October.
However, no new case has been detected in the recent past, adding that all the people who were infected have recovered.
Taking cognisance of the disease, the health department conducted an aggressive awareness programme in different areas and people were asked use mosquito nets while sleeping. DDT was also sprayed in various localities.
Officials informed that the dengue cases were detected in areas which are in close proximity to Assam like Khanapara and Amchak.
