SHILLONG: BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav held discussions with church leaders on Saturday.
A BJP leader informed that there was also a meeting with representatives from Sein Raij and Seng Khasi.
Earlier in the day, an intellectual meet with eminent personalities of the state was held in the city. It was attended by Madhav and other BJP leaders. More than 60 intellectuals – including academicians from NEHU, entrepreneurs and some NGO leaders – attended the meeting.
The issues discussed ranged from scientific mining, the need to bring development and eradicating corruption, among others.
Madhav made it clear in the meeting that BJP would not interfere in the food habits of the people.
Madhav also flagged off a bike rally highlighting the need to eradicate corruption from the party office at Bivar road. As many as 180 bikers took part in the rally which stressed on the need to expose the corruption cases under the Congress-led MUA-II government.
Later, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the website, social media centre and e-Library of BJP at the party office.
