CoRP exec body removes top leaders

SHILLONG: The Confederation of Ri Bhoi People (CoRP), held its central executive committee (CEC) on December 9 in Nongpoh to sort out the differences between the president and the general secretary of the CoRP.
As a solution, the CEC decided to remove the president and general secretary temporarily until next year’s election in March. The date of the elections will be announced later.
The CEC has also set up a caretaker body consisting of the central body’s Vice President, Nickson Kharkhrang, Assistant General Secretary Ban Shylla and former Chief Advisor D.S Sulein to act on behalf of the president and general Secretary. The caretaker body also informed that senior members of the CoRP will be able to take part in the upcoming elections.
