Meghalaya man found dead
NOIDA: The body of a 28-year-old call centre employee was found in his rented accommodation at Bishanpura village here on Friday, police said.
The house owner spotted the body when he had gone to collect rent from the victim, Sandeep Taman.
SSI Dharmendra Sharma said Taman might have taken the extreme step two to three days ago. “No suicide note was found from the spot,” he said. A native of Meghalaya, Taman was working at a call centre in Noida Sector 63. “The incident is being probed,” Sharma said. (PTI)

Two injured in separate accidents

Shillong: On Saturday around 1 pm, one BSF truck (JK-02AH-1328) driven by D/C Rahu Kumar (39) of 19 Bn, BSF, Mawpat, dashed against one motorcycle (ML-05N-6451) ridden by R. Lleapha (32 )at Nongmensong. As a result, the motorcycle rider sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS.
In another incident on December 15 circa 3 am, one vehicle (ML-05Q-0054) went off road at Nongpathar village in West Khasi Hills. As a result, a female occupant sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital in Nongstoin.

Musical drama on death anniv of Soso Tham
SHILLONG: As part of the annual commemoration of the 77th death anniversary of the Khasi poet, laureate and philosopher, U Soso Tham; a team of young individuals –Ki Mawshamok is staging a short rendition in the form of a musical drama called Na Shata Dar. It will be held on December 18 amongst other programmes organised by the Department of Arts & Culture, from 2 pm to 4 pm.
This play exhibits the first major element of his works portraying the beginning of his journey as an author revered widely among U Hynniewtrep Hynniewskum.

Vijay Diwas celebrated
Shillong: Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on December 16 all across the nation to commemorate the glorious victory of Indian Armed Forces over the Pakistani Armed Forces in the Indo-Pak war in 1971. It was also celebrated in Shillong by 101 Area on Saturday.
Lieutenant General Shokin Chauhan, Director General Assam Rifles and Lieutenant General DS Ahuja General Officer Commanding 101 Area laid wreath at the war memorial to commemorate the sacrifice made by the brave soldiers.
