Two killed, eight injured in separate mishaps

SHILLONG: Two persons died in two separate road accidents in the State in last one week.
On December 18, one truck (AS-01-GC-7681) driven by Akromani Jamatia (30) ran over Miss Ganga Sangma (16) at 15th Mile, Byrnihat (RB).
A scooty (ML-05Q-3620) ridden by Khupsiansang Paite knocked down Cyril Vincent Pugh near St. Edmund’s College Gate around 11.30 am on December 16.
Victim was removed to Woodland Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 17.
A Maruti Baleno collided with a dumper tuck in Umsning around 3 am on Tuesday. One of the occupants, identified as Nisha Niommi was injured severely while other five sustained minor injuries.
In another incident, one Tata truck driver was severely injured when the truck he was driving was hit from behind by another truck at 5 am on Tuesday. The driver, Joshland Mawlong (24), was injured and the 108 service helped in shifting the injured to Nongpoh CHC.
A Mahindra Pick up (ML10 B 5429) overturned in Umran Niangbyrnai, Ri Bhoi. Two occupants identified as Johnson Thabah (16) and Fernando Thabah (23) sustained injuries.
