SHILLONG: The state BJP leadership has welcomed the move of the Aligarh district administration in Uttar Pradesh to crack its whip on a Hindutva group that was threatening local schools against celebrating Christmas.
BJP leader JA Lyngdoh said on Wednesday the party appreciated the move to stop communal discrimination.
On Tuesday, two days after the RSS-affiliated Hindu Jagran Manch warned Aligarh schools against celebrating the festival, Uttar Pradesh police directed all district police chiefs to ensure that Christmas festivities go smoothly without any untoward incident.
