SHILLONG: Former KHNAM legislator Lambor Malngiang, who will contest the Assembly polls from Nongkrem as an Independent candidate, said on Friday an MLA should act instead of giving lip services.
Addressing a gathering at a meeting in Madanrting after distributing blankets for Christmas, Malngiang said an MLA should work hand in hand with people to bring about positive changes.
“Public representatives show their faces only during elections but they should be with the people right through the thick and thin,” he told reporters.
According to Malngiang, there is a need to have free education for underprivileged families. The former MLA and MDC also called for setting up good colleges in Nongkrem constituency.
Earlier, he also distributed blankets in Laitkor.
