SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union has condemned the “unprofessionalism of SSA and MBoSE” which allowed the publication of a Class III textbook with wrong information about the royal house of the Hima Khyrim and said the circulation of the book should be stopped.
In a letter to the Director of School Education and Literacy, the union said Ingsad, which is the royal house of the Hima Khyrim, is being represented as ingtrep (hut) in the book Tip Ia Ka Pyrthei, which is a copyright of MBoSE, Tura.
“People of the Hima has a deep revere for this house and never could we imagine that anyone would compare it with a hut… this misrepresentation by the author is a cultural insult on the people of the Khyrim Syiemship,” the letter said and urged that the mistake should be corrected.
