SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Secretary Y. Tsering will seek cooperation from Assam for smooth conduct of the polls in Meghalaya since there are many vulnerable polling stations on the border.
Tsering said on Wednesday that he would meet his counterpart in Assam to ensure passage of polling personnel through the neighbouring state as some polling stations share border with Assam.
Moreover, Meghalaya will also seek help from Assam for deployment of vehicles during polls.
Another area which Meghalaya wants Assam to focus is law and order along the border to check the movement of militants.
