Two people sustained injury in an accident on Saturday morning at around 11.30 am at Shillong By Pass at Thangshalai village in EKHD. The accident occurred when one bike which was on its way to Jowai from Guwahati skid leaving both the rider and the pillion rider severely injured. Both the victims are from Guwahati and they are identified as Trishnashree Das, 23-year-old (female) and Nilutpal Debnath, 23-year-old (male). The 108 emergency service based at Mawryngkneng was dispatched and helped in shifting them to Mawryngkneng PHC where they were further transported for better treatment to Shillong Civil Hospital.

Elegant Kharmuti, 50-year-old (male) sustained minor injuries when the vehicle that he was travelling in met with an accident on Saturday at around 3.30 pm. The accident hapened when one Wagon R which was on the way to Shillong from Byrnihat, skid and hit the road divider in Umnget Village, Ri Bhoi Districts.  Kharmuti sustained minor injuries and was shifted to Umsning CHC by Umsning based 108 ambulance.

One pedestrian was hit by a coal loaded truck in Batabari villag, 10 kms away from Gasupara in South Garo Hills District. 60-year-old Pornima Banai (female) was severely injured and she was shifted to Dalu CHC by a Gasupara 108 based ambulance.
