Truck overturns
On January 18 around 8.15 pm, one cement laden truck (AS-01GC-1061) driven by Trinath Dalai (20) overturned at Moamari in North Garo Hills. As a result, the driver died on the spot. Necessary formalities have been observed and the matter is under enquiry.

Theft
On the wee hours of January 19, miscreants broke into the house of Keith Willoughby Wahlang at Upper Lachumiere, Shillong and stole two laptop computers, RS. 20,000 in cash along with other items.
C K Sangma, Asst. Executive Engineer, PWD(R), Border Roads Sub-Division, Barengapara, West Garo Hills lodged a complaint that on January 10 during inspection, he detected that some rolled steel joist valued around Rs. 4,63, 000 were found missing from a timber bridge at Jebalgre village.
On January 6 around 3 am, miscreants stole a motorcycle (ML-08C-3422) belonging to Pilbath Sangma from Rongchuggre in South West Garo Hills.

Abduction
On January 19 around 10 pm, one Davestone Kharkongor (29) jumped from a Bolero Pick-up (number not known) at Mylliem as the driver (name not known) of the pick-up did not stop the vehicle. As a result, Davestone sustained injuries and was removed to the hospital.
Pyntngen Phuli lodged a complaint that on January 16, her son Ioomiki Phuli was abducted by miscreants.
