Mobile App comes handy for voters

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Votes, a mobile application, is now available in Google Play to help the voters to have easy access to information related to polling stations and other details.
Designed for the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, the objective of the App is to assist voters to search their electoral rolls related information details by selecting and entering basic information like district, assembly constituency, name or EPIC number. The chief electoral officer, Frederick Kharkongor, said that using this app, voters can access their polling station information to enable them to cast their votes at specific polling station location.
The App used Google Map will guide the voters the direction and distance to reach the polling booth from their current location.
The App also enables the citizen to know their elected representatives and also the party to which they belong. It also provides a link to the affidavit filed by the MLAs during the election.
