SHILLONG: Potholes, ditches, eroded stones and half-constructed roads now greet the visitors as they step into Mawsynram telling them the fact that the growth still eludes this picturesque place.
As the reporters travelled to Dangar to seek information on the stabbing incident of PN Syiem’s brother, Kynpham Syiem, found this to their dismay.
They travelled on a Maruti 800 from Shillong and had to switch to a Sumo vehicle at Mawsynram in order to make their way to Dangar.
It is found that certain stretches of road like that of Khliehriat village, Nongthymmai village and Pyndensohsaw villages are good.
However, it was a bumpy ride from Trongpleng, Kynrang, Pomblang, whereas the road to Dangar is quite good.
The roads are frequently travelled by two representatives, former MLA of Mawsynram, PN Syiem who is contesting from People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and Congress MLA Martin Danggo who is also the Minister PWD (Roads).
