SHILLONG: The BJP Mandal Committee of North Shillong stated that the resignation of Keith Pariat from the party as president of BJP District Shillong City Committee is misleading.
In a statement , general secretary of North Shillong Mandal Committee, Pherbran Chyne, said that Pariat is not the present BJP President of Shillong city.
Referring to the resignation of Wallambok Thangkhiew, Chyne told reporters on Monday, “The Mandal committee has already removed Wallambok Thangkhiew from the post of president of North Shillong Mandal Committee including the Booth Committee member on September 27, for his anti-party activities.”
In this connection, a show cause was issued by the BJP District Shillong Committee.
The Mandal committee of North Shillong made no comments on others who resigned along with Thangkhiew as Chyne stated that their presence in the party will not create any positive impact.
Meanwhile, president of youth wing of the party from North Shillong Mandal, Fairningstone Marbaniang, stated that Raja Jyrwa never held the post of vice-president of Yuva Morcha of the North Shillong Mandal Committee.
The reaction from the leaders of North Shillong Mandal Committee comes in the wake of reports that BJP supporters from North Shillong Mandal Committee have resigned from the party which included Keith Pariat, Wallambok Thangkhiew and Raja Jyrwa.
