Cleaning drive
The Dorbar Dong Demseiniong will organise a locality cleaning drive on January 26 from 8 am onwards. Vehicle owners and drivers are requested to drive slow on account of the drive for safety of children who are participating on that day.
Prohibition
The Chief Engineer, PWD (Roads) has informed to all concerned that laying of water pipelines and other utility lines is no longer allowed the road side drains. All existing pipe lines which run along the drains should be re-aligned immediately within 30 days from the date of issue of this notification. In another notification, it added that all schemes intended to provide slab cover to the existing PWD Road side drains by other Departments should be implemented only or after obtaining NOC from the concerned PWD Division in the area.
Saraswati puja
Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban on Monday celebrated the 14th year of Sree Sree Saraswati Puja at ABP Road, Laban. The puja was started at 10:30 am followed by Pushpanjali , Bhog and Prasad distribution.
Condolence

Dry day
The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh in Exercise of the power conferred by Sec 52 (1) of ME Act (Assam Excise Act & Rules as adapted by Meghalaya hereby orders the closure of all IMFL Retail Shops, Bars in Hotels, Bonded Warehouses, Bottling Units, Country made spirit shops, Outstills, Breweries, Canteens etc. located in Ri Bhoi District on January 26 on account of Republic Day.
Office bearers
The general meeting of UDP North Shillong Circle was held on Monday and elected new office bearers. The president is Allantry Franklin Dkhar, working president Joebrenson Marwein, general secretary Biangshisha Sohliya among others.
Workshop
The office of Controller of Communication, Department of Telecommunications, NE circle conducted a workshop on Digidhan Commission in the conference hall of State Convention Centre on January 18.
