SHILLONG: Continuing his tirade against the BJP, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has accused the saffron party of corrupting the whole political system of the country.
Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Sangma lamented that the BJP is resorting to strategies that are corrupting the political system even as it slyly engages in hollow rhetoric about waging a crusade against corruption.
Terming the BJP’s activities as dangerous for the future of the country, Sangma said that every citizen must condemn such acts in no uncertain terms.
The Chief Minister accused the BJP of diluting and weakening the federal structure of the country while maintaining that at no time in history has such a dangerous force been in power at the Centre.
“What are these people up to? They are diluting the federal structure which will have a disastrous effect on the future of the nation,” he told reporters after meeting AICC leader CP Joshi here on Wednesday.
The CM alleged that the Union Government is trying to reach out to stakeholders directly even though there are clear guidelines pertaining to Central schemes.
“Have they changed the guidelines,” he asked.
Meanwhile, Sangma asserted that he and his party would optimally use the time available before the polls to ensure that the Congress reaches its target of winning 38 seats in the Assembly.
