No filing of nominations on first day

TURA: The deputy commissioner’s offices in all five districts of Garo Hills went about their usual functions on Wednesday, with none of the candidates putting up their papers on the first day of filing of nominations.

While the poll notification was out on Wednesday for filing the papers, there were no candidates who turned up to complete the official process in any of the five districts.

The last date of filing of nominations has been fixed for February 7, while scrutiny of nominations will be done on February 8.

February 12 will be the last day for candidates to withdraw their nominations and counting of votes will take place on March 3 to declare the winners of different seats.
