Accident
On January 30 around 10.30am, one pick-up vehicle (ML-08F-2582) driven by Hajibur Rahman fell into a gorge at Damdilkona (SWGH). As a result, the driver and one occupant sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Tura for treatment.
Attack
Shahidur Rahman lodged a complaint that on January 22 around 5 pm, one Md. Abu Taher Sheik (a.k.a Atta) along with five others who were armed, attacked Md. Hafizur Rahman and Md. Narul Islam at Rajaballa market inWest Garo Hills. On seeing this, one Md. Abdur Rahim rushed to help the victims but was stabbed by the accused who managed to flee. The three victims sustained injuries and were taken to CH Hatsingimari, Sub-Division, Assam. Md. Abdur Rahim succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
Body recovered
The body of a missing person, Dalang Kharbani (23 years) was recovered from a gorge of Umsur River. Aristar Kharbani had lodged an FIR stating that Kharbani had gone missing from Nonghyllam in South West Khasi Hills since January 20. The cadaver was sent to CHC Ranikor for PM examination.
Falsely implicated
Riki D Shylla lodged a complaint on Wednesday that one Pyrkhatbha Lamare, a Government employee, falsely implicated him in a Jowai PS Case regarding the protest against the Headman of Ummulong.
Theft
Hari Barman (39 yrs) lodged a complaint that on January 29, unknown miscreants stole twenty four battery banks from an Airtel Tower at Jorabat under Byrnihat OP in Ri Bhoi.
Manish Debnath lodged a complaint that during his absence between December 23, 2017 and January 29, 2018, unknown miscreants broke into his quarter inside NEHU Campus, Shillong and stole gold ornaments and household items valued around RS. 1,82,000.
Trucks detained
On January 30, Police detected ten coal trucks at Gasuapara (SGH) plying without Mineral Transport Challan from DMR. All the trucks were detained.
