Guv asks bureaucrats to focus on villages

NONGSTOIN: Meghalaya Governor Ganga Prasad called upon the government officers at the grassroots level to dedicate themselves in uplifting villagers along with the state and the nation as a whole during his visit to Nongstoin in West Khasi Hills on Wednesday.
He informed the crowd gathered at the circuit house that while he was in Delhi he had met the Minister of Agriculture, Government of India and had discussed about his desire to promote agriculture in the state.
He encouraged the use of organic manure and advised farmers to avoid chemical fertilizer which damages the soil and affects production.
He concluded by expressing his readiness to address the grievances of the people and the officials of the district.
 Deputy Commissioner Arunkumar Kembhavi, SP G.D. Kharwanlang, ADCs, EACs along with district heads of offices were also present at the gathering.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by K.L.Nongbri, ADC.
