SHILLONG: The West Shillong BJP members resigned en masse on Tuesday with former president of BJP West Shillong, Sonny Khyriem slamming the BJP leadership for not putting up a BJP candidate in West Shillong constituency.

Protesting against the alleged dictatorial attitude and mocking the BJP as the latest joke of the year, 2018, Khyriem, in a press statement went on to add that Hitler’s regime is alive under BJP’s leadership.

“Your nasty and repressive preferences have now made BJP the latest joke of the year, 2018. We were made to understand that the Hitler’s regime has long gone and dead but in your leadership, it is alive and that seems to inspire you religiously,” he said.

He asserted that the “dictatorial attitude” not to nominate a candidate in the Constituency speaks volume of the BJP’s tyrannical mindset and the despotic choice.

Khyriem went on to state that the party had asked them to submit applications to enable them to recommend (names) for obtaining party nomination to contest the Assembly elections.

In a statement issued here, he informed that the Mandal Committee including the Mahila Morcha, the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), media cell and all the polling booth units were dissolved on Tuesday.
