SHILLONG:  Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) working president,  Vincent Pala has said that the decision of the NPP not to field a candidate in Ampati clearly reveals that they are working hand in hand with the BJP which has fielded a candidate in Ampati.

Though NPP has claimed of a surprise as far as its  candidate in Ampati is concerned, the NPP did not field any candidate in the home turf of the Chief Minister.

Vincent Pala on Friday said, “This decision  has  exposed the fact that NPP and BJP are working hand in glove and they are together.

In Ampati constituency, the BJP has fielded Bakul Ch Hajong while another independent candidate,  Joyonto K Marak is also in the fray.

Meanwhile, the  Pala also alleged that even   there was an understanding  among the regional parties and the BJP and this was the reason that BJP had not fielded a candidate in West Shillong constituency where BJP members resigned en masse in protest.

While the West Shillong constituency  has four candidates including  candidates from Congress, UDP and NPP besides an independent candidate, the main fight there is between Mohendro Rapsang of   Congress and  Paul Lyngdoh of UDP.
