SHILLONG: Former BJP leader and NPP contestant from Nongthymmai constituency , Ehkupar Nongrum has asserted the alliance between the HSPDP and UDP will break into pieces by March 10.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday after the scrutiny of nomination papers, Nongrum while claiming that that NPP is going to form the Government castigated the UDP-HSPDP alliance saying such alliances are visible only during elections and by March 10, they will split.
Stating that UDP’s Jemino Mawthoh and Congress’s Charles Pyngrope are no longer giants in the constituency and this is his time to win the polls, he said he had no threat from both the leaders.
“ I am moving around the constituency and I am getting positive response,” he said, adding that Nongthymmai constituency despite being located in Shillong city still has poverty, poor roads and poor power supply.
Meanwhile, he also lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party saying the party in the state is being controlled by one businessman from the state even as he added that there is no future for the party in the state.
According to Nongrum, though the party has great leaders like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah at the national level, there is too much infighting in the party here in the state and because of infighting, even party president, Shibun Lyngdoh could not secure a party ticket for his sister.
The Nongthymmai constituency is heading for multi-corner contest as altogether there are six candidates who are in the fray.
