SHILLONG:  The ruling Congress   has termed the political parties which are allegedly supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as “Judas in operation while urging people of the state to be careful in the upcoming Assembly polls.

Speaking to media persons here on Monday, AICC national spokesman Tom Vaddakan  said “These are the people who have sold their souls and now their bodies re on sale. These are the people who have compromised with the devil because of power.”

“ Meghalaya is now the test ground for what will  happen in future.. If Meghalaya surrenders,  the whole country will surrender,” he said while slamming the BJP over its charge-sheet on the Congress saying BJP is criticizing Congress for not introducing Lokpal in Meghalaya, adding that Meghalaya has high standards of auditing and   transparency whereas  they (BJP) has not implemented Lok Pak in even in Delhi.

Asserting that Congress will protect  the culture and the interest  of the people, he also took a jibe at the saffron party saying that the BJP does not have nerve to come down here strongly.

“They (BJP-NPP) are both one and this is a front to come to power through the backdoor. The backdoor technology is what they master and they are misusing the constitution…you have seen that in Goa. All I am saying is that Judas is in town so be careful.”

Meanwhile, he also slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi after showing glimpses of his address  saying the tall claims of the PM that demonetisation will root out black money , circulation of fake notes and terrorism has fallen flat on his face. Instead this turned out to be independent India’s biggest financial scam that took people’s money and burned their pockets.

Castigating the Centre over the  GST, he said that it was used as a surgical strike on the common man , even as course corrections were being done on the eve of Gujarat Elections goodies where handed out to those affected by GST

“Today the prices of petrol have hit the roof, while international prices remained stable. This has had a cascading effect on prices. The inflationary effect has affected every women’s kitchen budget,” he said.
