Assam Chief Secretary holds review meeting with Investors of Private Institutes

GUWAHATI:  Chief Secretary V.K Pipersenia in a meeting with various Investors of Private Institutes/ Universities held on Tuesday at the conference hall of the Chief Secretary at Janata Bhawan, urged them to start colleges in Assam at the earliest. The names of the prominent Institutes are Techno India University, Amity University, Poshac India Foundation and AISECT.

In today’s meeting the Chief Secretary discussed mainly about procurement of land, setting up of universities taking into account the problems on the issues relating to existing building by-laws. He also deliberated at length the need of Infrastructure development of sports in schools and colleges in Assam with setting up of colleges and universities in the nook and corner of the state.

The Chief Secretary expressed his gratitude to the investors and added that the Government is setting up a Coordination Committee to facilitate them in resolving all issues involved for speedy completion of the projects.

The meeting was also attended by Addl. Chief Secretary, Finance, etc V.B Pyarelal, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam UDD, GDD etc. Ajay Tewari besides other senior officials.
