BJP lodges complaint against Radio Mirchi

SHILLONG: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday lodged a complaint against the Radio Mirchi (91.1 fm) with the Chief Electoral Officer alleging that the FM radio had broadcasted illegal propaganda with the with the aim and intent of communalizing the going election.

The complaint forwarded by one Ankur Kumar said that messages like “Don’t Vote for anti-christian party” was promoted through the radio.

Chief Electoral Officer, FR Kharkongor said that the Deputy Commissioner immediately issued a show cause notice to the Radio and the particular Radio Jockey immediately issued an apology into the matter.
