Election complaints emerge from GH, JH

SHILLONG/JOWAI: A number of election related incidents emerged before the state went to polls on Tuesday.
The election agent of F.C.A Sangma, NPP candidate from Selsella constituency lodged a complaint to DEO, West Garo Hills, against Congress candidate from Selsella Clement Marak on February 22.
The election agent complained that Marak, allegedly carried cash and liquor to Selsella (West Garo Hills) in a Tata Safari (ML-05R-3299) belonging to him.
On the same day, the president of Youth Congress, Richard Marak, lodged a complaint against Gilmore FG Momin, election agent of NPP candidate of North Tura Constituency for non-adherence to time permitted to conduct a meeting on February 22 at Round Building, Tura Bazar (EGH).
In another incident on February 21, Anderson A Sangma lodged a complaint that some boys namely, Senseble Ch Marak, Jelpan Ch Marak and Tanjen D Sangma and others threatened to detonate a bomb in the vehicle where the eight members of the Mahila Congress were travelling from Dagal A’pal to Wage A’pal (EGH), if they continue to work for the Congress party.
It is reported that the boys were identified as youth workers of the NPP.
On the same day, Sapna Thakur and five others of Morellow compound, Keating Road lodged a complaint that on February 21 around 10 am, Tarun Bose went to their residence and threatened them with dire consequences, if the Congress candidate loses the election.
Meanwhile in Jowai, UDP candidate from Khliehriat lodged a complaint against some supporters of BJP under Khliehriat West polling station for chasing away the polling agent of the UDP candidate.
Some of the elders from Khliehriat West chased the polling agent and threatened him with dire consequences. Kyrmen Shylla- UDP candidate also informed that his polling agent was not allowed to cast his vote.
Another polling agent of Independent candidate at Dkhiah East was also chased away by BJP supporters, sources informed.
In another incident, a house which belonged to Klur Dkhar of Wapungskur, Moopyniein locality was attacked by unknown miscreants. Some of the window panes were damaged. She is a supporter of the UDP under Khliehriat Constituency.
