SHILLONG: Two years ago, the family of late PA Sangma had suffered irreparable loss by the passing away of the stalwart.
On Tuesday, the family witnessed a historic occasion after Sangma’s son Conrad and his brother took oath as chief minister and Cabinet minister, respectively.
PA Sangma’s wife Sarodini, daughter and newly elected MLA from South Tura, Agatha Sangma, the wives of Conrad and James among other relatives were present during the swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
Sarodini said though the family misses PA Sangma, it is a happy occasion for them as this is a tribute to the late soul.
Agatha said though her father is no more, his blessings are always with the family and on such an occasion like the swearing-in ceremony of two members of the family, his memories are vivid.
“There is definitely a big space missing by the passing away of our father but we believe that we are heading in the right direction,” Agatha said.
“It is symbolic that Conrad was named the chief minister designate on the occasion of the second death anniversary of the father,” she added.
According to Agatha, the blessings of PA Sangma will also be there with Conrad as he is responsible and follows certain principles in life like the father.
