One killed, 2 injured in accidents
On March 3 around 8.29 am, one truck (AS-01-GC-1159) fatally knocked down Ratna Bahadur at Lumshnong, East Jaintia Hills.
On March 6 around 6.30 pm, an accident took place between one auto rickshaw (ML-10B-3853) driven by Johny Kharmujai and a truck (JK-02-AQ-8076) at 16th Mile, Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi, where the driver and one occupant of the auto rickshaw sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Nongpoh.
Nine shops, house gutted
On March 5 around 10 pm, fire broke out at Tekachang Bazar in North Garo Hills, in which around nine shops and a house were gutted.
Theft
On March 6 between 10 am and 2 pm, miscreants stole one laptop belonging to Krity Kamal Das from Edmund’s Home, Lower Motinagar.
Marshal Kharbani lodged a complaint that on March 6 around 7.30 pm, he detected that miscreants had broke into his house at Mawlai Phudmuri, Shillong and stole one laptop computer, gold items valued around Rs 79,000.
On March 4, miscreants stole eight solar plates valued around Rs. 1,20,000 from Amguri, Selsella, West Garo Hills.
Pinak Choudhury lodged a complaint that on February 2 around 8.30 pm, one unidentified boy went to his shop at Jail Road, and while the complainant went to the wash room, the boy stole twenty pieces of 4GB memory cards valued around Rs. 5,300.
Assault
Shianshil Dkhar lodged a complaint that on March 4 around 8 pm, Tambor Dkhar assaulted the complainant and his friends viz., Arkin Dkhar, Phaitki Sana and Forme Kyndait at Tuber Kmaishnong village in East Jaintia Hills.
Misappropriation
Bikash Goenka of M/s PL Trading Agency and M/s SJ Marketing, Luckier Road, Shillong lodged a complaint that his manager identified as Om Prakash Chouhan (56) was missing since March 2, after misappropriating stock amounting to Rs. 18,00,000.
Stone pelting
On March 5 at 6.30 pm, miscreants pelted stones at the house of Ganga Rai at Lumshyiap, Nongmensong, Shillong, damaging the windowpanes. Matter is under enquiry.
Mondlistar Pdang lodged a complaint that on February 28 around 10.45 pm, miscreants pelted stones at his house at Sutnga village, damaging several windowpanes and also indecently threatened the complainant.
Mahindra pick-up stolen
On March 2 between 2 am and 5 am, miscreants stole one Mahindra pick-up vehicle (ML-14-1839) belonging to Jagadish Prasad Gupta from Garobadha Rice Market in West Garo Hills.
