SHILLONG: Former chief minister Mukul Sangma on Wednesday greeted the youngest legislator, Dasakhiatbha Lamare (25), in the new Assembly after the oath-taking ceremony.
The greeting is significant as Sangma revealed that he was the youngest MLA in the Assembly in 1993 at the age of 27.
Lamare is the son of Ngaitlang Dhar, who had unsuccessfully contested against George Lyngdoh of the Congress from Umroi.
Sangma said it is good to have active youngsters in the Assembly.
Lamare said he completed his B.Com degree from Bangalore and was helping his father in construction-related activities for the last few years.
