Jonathone murder: NCP leaders meet CM over NIA probe

SHILLONG: A delegation of NCP members led by MLA Saleng Sangma met the chief minister and the home minister on Tuesday over NIA investigation into the death of Jonathone Sangma, the party’s Williamnagar candidate who was killed before the election.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Home Minister James Sangma saying the nexus between militants and political leaders should be brought to light and the culprits should be booked as per the law.
“The family of late Jonathone Sangma will not be in peace if the culprits involved are not brought to book,” the delegation said as they urged the ministers to recommend to the Centre an inquiry by the National Investigation Agency.
