SHILLONG: The timeline to start the retreat ceremony in Dawki between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) has been missed once again, thanks to the delay on the part of the Bangladeshi authorities.

“The day they  (Bangladesh ) are ready, we will start the ceremony,”  a top official of BSF said.

It was informed that   the work for the saluting base has been completed and BSF would also come up other infrastructures such as pavilion and  sitting gallery.

It may be mentioned that Dawki is already one of the favourite tourist destinations in Meghalaya.
The place has a border check point and it is used by many tourists to cross over to India as well as Bangladesh.
Apart from the retreat ceremony, BSF is also coming up with other infrastructure for tourists such as a cafeteria, places to sit besides it would also exhibit its weaponry and screen movie on the force for tourists.

On the other hand, the BSF also has plans to develop tourist related infrastructures in Kilapara outpost in Dalu

“We will try to work the start there within this year,” the official said.
