Four die in accidents

SHILLONG: As many as four people died in a spate of road accidents across the state in the last couple of days.
On March 23 around 8.30 pm, Torik Ch Momin (50) fell off from one running motorcycle ridden by Sengrik K Sangma near Damas Bazar in NGH. The victim sustained injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the way to PHC Dainadubi.
On the same day, around 7 pm, one local taxi driven by Children Daju turned turtle on the road at Mawpun village under Mawshynrut police Station in West Khasi Hills. The driver died on the spot.
On the same evening, an unknown vehicle knocked down one pedestrian, Bedameris Passi at Down Gate Nongpoh in Ri Bhoi in which she sustained injuries and was shifted to Bethany Hospital, Nongpoh. She was declared dead by the medical officer.
Earlier, on March 21 around 11.30 pm, Kini Chen (22 years) of Mynso-A Lumphlong village was fatally run over by one truck driven by Telles Dkhar (42 yrs) at Sookilo (EJH). Reportedly, the victim was sleeping under the truck when the incident took place.
