SHILLONG: Urban and Municipal Affairs Minister Hamlet Dohling has expressed surprise at the SPTS buses not issuing tickets to passengers.
When media persons brought this matter before the minister, he said this needed to be probed.
Since tickets are not issued to passengers, there is no way to check the exact amount collected every day.
He said this and other pending issues will be followed up.There are as many as 134 SPTS buses on city roads and the department has proposed to condemn 50 vehicles.
He also said there is a need to review the agreement between the department and those who operate the buses for better delivery.
